Celebrating Excellence at the LCA Murdoch Awards
Calder continues its support of the Lead Contractors Association
We were proud to attend this year’s Lead Contractors Association (LCA) Murdoch Awards, an event that shines a spotlight on excellence in leadwork and the dedication of those working with this timeless material. Representing Calder were our Commercial Director, Claire Philliskirk, and Sales Manager, Adam McCone, who both enjoyed a fantastic evening of networking and celebration.
The LCA has been promoting and protecting quality standards in lead sheet work since 1984, with all members required to work to the current Code of Practice (BS6915) and the guidance set out by the Association. Every member goes through a rigorous annual vetting programme, with on-site inspections ensuring the highest standards are maintained. Uniquely, LCA members can also offer a 25-year guarantee on their work — a true mark of confidence and craftsmanship.
The Murdoch Awards themselves are all about recognising the best of the best, highlighting projects that show both technical skill and creativity in leadwork. For us, it was inspiring to see the quality of work being delivered across the industry and to celebrate alongside peers who share the same commitment to excellence that Calder has upheld for generations.
Events like this are an important reminder of the value of collaboration within our sector. By sharing knowledge and maintaining the highest standards, we strengthen not only our own work but also the reputation of lead as a reliable, sustainable material for the built environment.
